Last week, Inkwell Designers brought live engraving to an event at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, a Marriott property, hosted by Marriott Bonvoy in partnership with Presenting Atlanta. It’s exactly the kind of live activation we live for. We were invited to engrave charging blanks to keep people’s phones charged in the stands during the World Cup. The game in Atlanta featured Egypt against Argentina.
We started by laser engraving a batch of blank portable chargers with the Presenting Atlanta logo, turning a simple tech accessory into a branded keepsake before a single guest walked in. Clean lines, crisp detail, the kind of finish that makes a logo feel premium instead of printed. We used our fiber laser to accomplish this task.
But the real moment happened on-site. As guests arrived, we set up our live engraving station and personalized each charger hand engraving names right there in front of them. There’s something about watching your name etched into an object in real time that turns a giveaway into a gift. Guests lingered at the table, watched the process, and left with something one of one. An item with their name on it they could take to the World Cup in Atlanta.
That’s the part of live engraving we never get tired of. A logo tells people whose event they’re at. A name tells them they were seen. Pairing both on one item, for a brand as recognizable as Marriott Bonvoy and a name as respected in Atlanta’s event scene as Presenting Atlanta, was a perfect fit for what we do.
Live engraving works because it’s part product, part performance. It gives guests a reason to stop, watch, and connect with a brand in a way a swag table never will. And for hosts, it turns a functional item into a story guests tell after they leave.
