On Site Engraving 2,000 Lightbulbs at Light Fair International 2018

On site engraving 2,000 lightbulbs at an event called Light Fair International is way beyond just another a trade show booth animation. It’s an innovative experience for tradeshow attendees that will keep people talking about your brand for years to come.

A few months ago were contacted by the Head of Customer Sales and Training for Ledvance, Robert Cilic. Their team had the idea of engraving lightbulbs at their tradeshow booth in Chicago. They had called several places and no one could do it. They even though about bringing an engraver in from Germany who specialized in this type of engraving on very thin glass. However, Rob didn’t want to give up looking more locally. We had engraved fine perfume bottles in the past as well as wine and liquor bottles. We were willing to give it a shot.

Rob sent us a pack of bulbs to try with our high speed drill. The drill’s RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) was 350,000 and it cut right through the glass. (Nothing exploded because these are LED lightbulbs filled with gas, no pressure.) One of our engravers, Meg, suggested we try a Dremel tool that only spins 35,000 RPMs, much slower. We did and it worked!

Here is a picture of the three masterminds who figured it all out and were the toast of the show, Meg, Rob and Desiree.

Rob and his team quickly put a beautiful booth plan together for us to showcase our on site engraving as well as beautiful packaging for the lamps themselves.

The on site engraving was such a hit, there were lines in the tradeshow booth all three days non-stop! We engraved lightbulbs for VIPs for companies like Home Depot and Samsung.

We were also asked to engrave on site at events each of the three nights of the conference at the Hard Rock Cafe, the Shedd Aquarium, and a media event at Bassment in downtown Chicago.

Clients loved the unique gifts at each event and wanted two or three for friends and family. The engraving never stopped the entire time we were at each event.

The best part was when a young man walked up to Desiree, our CEO and asked her to engrave a lightbulb for him to use when he asked his girlfriend to marry him. Desiree was honored to create a beautiful, engraved bulb for him right on the spot.

Desiree engraved, “You light up my life.” on one side and, “Will you marry me?” on the other. The lightbulb became the story of the show! Even the CEO, Jacob Tarn, stepped out to take a picture with the young man and Ledvance offered to give him lighting for his wedding day.

Light Fair International in Chicago was a wonderful experience for both our company and our clients. On-Site Foil Stamping at the MillerCoors Distributor Convention

On-site foil stamping was the biggest booth draw at the MillerCoors Distributor Convention in Austin, TX. We were one booth of many brands under the MillerCoors name, but our lines were even longer than those serving alcohol. People waited 10 to 15 minutes to get their monograms hot foil stamped on their custom hardcover journals. As one guest said, “It was totally worth it!”

The journals were made from a denim-like hardcover paper. These hot foil stamped easily with our embossing machines. We added silver foil to the bottom right-hand corner of each journal. We added both two and three initials of each guest, which made them very personalized and our on-site foil stamping highly sought-after swag.

Our set up did not take up much space at all. They had two four foot tables for us by an electrical outlet with two chairs. We took up just about 8 feet of space. On-site foil stamping is an easy addition to even a small booth at any event.

We loved the way MillerCoors incorporated the journals into the booth’s bookshelves along with other branded memorabilia.

These were the pieces of foil we had used in a goldfish jar at the end of the night. This guy’s jacket even matched his new hot foil stamped journal!

People loved the on-site foil stamping activation at this convention. We had lines the entire time and ran out of journals about an hour before the event ended. All in all, the event was a success for our client. They loved the on-site experience as much as their guests.

On Site Foil Embossing Shines at Private Houston Event

On site foil embossing was a shining success at a private event for Latham and Watkins clients in Houston, Texas. The private party consisted of clients of the law firm from all over the state. We had a beautiful set up in the corner of the office with a gorgeous view of downtown Houston. Even though it was cloudy, the view was breathtaking, especially as night descended into darkness and the city lights put on a show for all of us.

Guests were given their choice of brown or black leather charger cord and cell phone accessory holders. Once they chose their favorite color, they brought them to our table to get embossing in either gold or silver foil or debossecd with no color. On site foil embossing is a popular gift item because its a very high-end, elegant gift which is not just beautiful, but practical as well.

Guests loved the luxurious on site embossing experience and felt special when they were handed their freshly monogrammed leather items. We embossed over 500 items during the 5 hour event.

On site foil embossing at events is a new way of making the gifting process very personal. Guests loved watching the monogramming happen right in front of them and it made for some great conversations at the event. It also helped elevate the brand for Latham and Watkins by their giving such special gifts to their clients.

Guests enjoyed a huge buffet of wonderful food as well as an open bar. It was an evening to remember and another successful on site embossing event for our company as well.

Personalized Journals Most Popular Swag at Commodity Classic

Personalized journals were the most popular swag at the Commodity Classic in Anaheim, California this month. We monogrammed over 1,000 journals over three days in the Farm Credit booth with our portable embossing machines. Every guest to the Farm Credit booth received their own set of personalized journals which were also embossed with the Farm Credit logo and entitled “Success Stories” which encouraged clients to track their business success.

Once word got out about the personalized journals the first day, the Farm Credit booth was the hot destination for some awesome swag. People loved the personalization right in front of them and we had many people just stop and watch the process for 10 minutes at a time. That’s great for the booth employees because it gives them a chance to chat with both current and potential new customers.

Our booth didn’t take up much space. We only needed a 6 ft long table near an electrical outlet and two chairs. That’s another benefit of our embossing. Our clients can build their booth around a very small footprint.

Here is a video testimonial from a Farm Credit client who waited a couple days to get her personalized journal. She waited because we were so busy and wanted to get one for her daughter but felt it was definitely worth it. This is a typical reaction from our booth guests when we emboss items at events and trade shows around the country.

The magic about embossed and personalized journals at events is its an activation that keeps people at the booth much longer. This gives booth workers a chance to scan the potential customer’s badge and strike up a conversation with them. That’s the real reason our embossing station works so well at events we are invited to attend.

These journals embossed like a dream because the covers were actually paper. Booth guests were able to choose to have them monograms created with silver or gold foil. We created equal amounts of both. It was an extra personalized touch people loved.

We wrapped up the show a little early on the third day because we actually ran out of journals. Usually clients have boxes of extra swag they have to take home. We ALWAYS run out at every show we do because of the high demand of the final personalized swag. That says a lot about the success of our event embossing. It is always the most popular at any event we’ve worked in the past.

The Farm Credit employees at the booth were amazed at how much traffic we attracted throughout the three day event and were very pleased with the results. They definitely want to invite us back to do personalized items for their booth again in the future.

Personalized Swag Heats Up Farm’d Event in Atlanta

Personalized swag was taken to a whole new level of heat when we engraved wood items at the Farm’d Launch Event in Atlanta. (Pardon the pun!) Our calligrapher, Meg, raised the temperature in the room by engraving calligraphy on wooden flowerpots and spoons with a pyrography pen at the event. She creating each one by hand for all attendees. Meg literally branded names, sayings and artwork into each item in front of guests for a personal, one-to-one experience.

The event celebrated the launch of the startup Farm’d team in Atlanta. The Farm’d team is made up of chefs and advisors who help simplify sales through a community marketplace, empowering direct, transparent food supply.

Here are some examples of the personalized swag she created at the Farm’d event. These were all created by hand with a pyrography tool.

The spoons and flowerpots were perfect for the event because they could be used long after the event was over and remind people of the wonderful night they had celebrating Farm’d. Some people even took things to a hotter level by adding their own color and artwork with the markers we provided.

Meg was also asked t0 create some signage for the event food table with her hand lettering and paint markers. She was happy to oblige!

The Farm’d event was a big hit and everyone agreed they had never seen such creative, personalized swag like the ones we provided guests during the evening. Our table was so popular, there was a line of people by the end of the evening wanting their spoons and flowerpots personalized.

We were very proud to be part of an event bringing the Farm’d startup to life here in Atlanta. We enjoyed working at this semi-private event and making it extra special for attendees.

On Site Calligraphy for Almay at the Coalition for Collegiate Women’s Conference

On site calligraphy was a popular marketing animation in the Almay® booth at the Coalition for Collegiate Women’s Leadership Annual Conference in Atlanta. Greek women leaders from all over the country came to the conference in search of learning, fun and friendship. Maggie from Her Campus Media found us online and loved our work. When she saw we did calligraphy at on site events, she called us immediately to book us for Almay booth at the conference.

Almay provided the makeup bags and Inkwell Designers provided the calligraphy. Our calligrapher, Meg, added her special calligraphy magic to over 500 bags over two days. She met women from all over the country who came to attend this special event. The Greek leaders really loved Meg’s personality as she talked with them while she added calligraphy to the makeup bags.

The women loved the bags, but most especially, enjoyed the in-person experience they had watching Meg personalize the bags with whatever they wanted right in front of them. It was truly a personal gift and one they would actually use.

On site calligraphy is always a big hit with attendees and easy to accommodate. We only require a table and a chair and no electricity.

She added their names, their sororities, their nicknames and some art, whatever they wanted. They couldn’t wait to show off their bags to their friends at the event! The Almay booth was definitely one of the most popular as word got around the first day. We worked two days at the conference and by the beginning of the second day, there was a line around the booth.

We’re not sure who had a better time, Meg or the attendees! On site calligraphy is a wonderful way to create beautiful swag for your guests at any event, both corporate and private.
