Live Monogramming Event for Tory Burch Popup at Dallas Nordstrom

Our live monogramming event for the Tory Burch Popup Shop in Nordstrom North Park in Dallas was an innovative experience for customers. We offered personalized hot foil monogramming free with purchase. Tory Burch is partnering with Nordstrom in March to offer popup shops all over the country including Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Miami. Nordstrom invited Inkwell Designers℠ to be part of the event and offer live monogramming to customers.

Our CEO, and Master Embosser, Desiree Colonna flew out to Dallas to work at the event two days in a row, March 17 and 18, and will fly to Chicago the following weekend to host another live monogramming event. Customers are able to choose leather items such as handbags, sneakers and sandals and Desiree monogrammed them in person at the popup event.

Customization has become very important to people in a very high tech world. Customers loved watching the monogramming process live and in person at this event. Here is a picture of one customer with her handbag. We offered both silver and gold foil monograms at the event in our popular block font. Each item took less than a minute to do.

Customers also bought handbags in a pre-sale option where they bought the bag before the event. Desiree then finished the bags at the event and customers picked them up the next day after the live monogramming event was completed.

Our live monogramming event activation doesn’t take up much space. We just need a table and a chair near an electrical outlet and we’re all set. Our table was set up in the popup shop and took up only about 6 square feet of space.

The Tory Burch popup shop was beautifully decorated with the designer’s patterns and offered everything from clothing to jewelry and shoes.

However, the shoe section stole our hearts and was the most popular with customers as well!

Monogramming Event for American Express at the International Builders’ Show

Our monogramming event, sponsored by American Express®, was a big hit at the International Builder’s Show in Orlando, FL. We monogrammed over 250 luggage tags for guests at the debut of the New American Home in Clermont, FL.

Our office for the evening was in this gorgeous $5.5 million dollar home. This was the view at sunset when we drove up.

American Express contacted us in November 2017 to book us for the monogramming event in January 2018. We were very pleased to work with their team. They wanted to hand out luggage tags which would we personalized on-site for each person who attended the event. Guests were given a choice of brown or navy tags and the monogram was hot stamped onto the leather right in front of them which added to the excitement! They were also able to choose between gold and silver foil.

Here are some highlights from the New American Home. It was a beautiful night as you can see from the images.

We were actually set up in the office on the first floor of the home where we monogrammed each luggage tag by hand for almost every guest. The line went out the door and never stopped for the 4 hours we were there.

The luggage tags were so popular, when we got back to our office in Atlanta, we were still getting calls from people at the event who wanted to order more for their staff and coworkers. It doesn’t surprise us. People really love getting personalized swag at events as we learned at our Cisco event.

Custom UGG Design Created for A Client in Wisconsin

Custom UGG design is a new leather design trend we’ve definitely had a lot of fun with recently specifically for a client in Wisconsin. When Jessica read our Facebook page and found we could use our pyrography and leather debossing skills to design wildflowers on her UGG® boots, she immediately sent her boots to us in Atlanta.

We were able to design the UGG boots after consulting with her on the design she wanted. We then took a pyrography pen and set it at the highest setting and went to work. The design took about an hour to create. We were inspired by photographs online and also coloring book designs.

Burning in the design creates a “tattoo” on the UGGs that lasts forever and will not wear off with time under normal use and care. The design won’t rub off and becomes a permanent image on the boots.

Jessica’s custom designed UGGs turned out even better than she imagined. Jessica was so happy with the final design she sent us a picture of her wearing them on the first day after she received them back from our team.

Leather Patch Monogramming Event for Levi’s Grand Opening Huge Success

Leather patch monogramming is the hot new trend that is taking off at events worldwide. When you add this service a live event, it’s almost guaranteed to be a huge success.

When the marketing company, MKTG in San Francisco, reached out to us in September, they were looking for a unique experience for their client, Levi Strauss®. Levi’s was having a grand opening in Plano, Texas in October. They wanted patches embossed and monogrammed in front of the customer. Their in-house tailor would then sew them on anything denim they bought at the store. We worked with local Atlanta company InTandem Promotions to create a unique patch for the event which we could also monogram right in front of customers. Shoppers loved this unique and personal service and couldn’t wait to see the final design.

We agreed to fly from Atlanta to Plano for the event to create a leather patch monogramming experience their clients would never forget. We are able to fly all over the world with our leather embossing and engraving equipment to both engrave and emboss items for companies worldwide. All we need is a table and a couple chairs next to an electrical outlet.

Our CEO, Desiree Colonna, is also our Chief Embossing Officer. She was able to go to the event and emboss over 250 leather patches in 4 hours. That’s exactly 1 patch per minute!

Customers loved the experience and stood in line waiting to get patches for themselves, friends and loved ones.

The event was so popular, we’ve been booked in January for another event for Levi’s with more events to come in 2018. Check our calendar for more information and for our latest events.

Leather Monogramming Service Saves Husband’s 2018 Leather Planner

Our leather monogramming service saved the day for a young wife in Atlanta who wanted to surprise her husband with a special leather planner before his upcoming business trip. The only problem was the planner had someone else’s monogram on it and the wife had tried to remove it with rubbing alcohol. The result wasn’t pretty as you can see from the picture above. Although the monogram was removed completely, so was most of the leather dye used to originally create the planner which left a big gray smudge on the bottom right hand corner.

Her husband was leaving for a trade show later in the month and she really wanted his initials monogrammed on the leather in place of the now smudged area. She was devastated when she saw the dye come off while she was working on it and calling us was a last ditch effort to just cover it up.

We were able to take on the challenge! Not only did we cover it with a new monogram, we fixed the leather area and brought it back to its original state.

We covered the area with a black leather dye marker to neutralize the gray color. Then we treated the area with black shoe polish and leather cleaner to get the leather condition back to it’s original state.

Desiree hot stamped a new gold foil monogram over the newly refinished area. The result was amazing! You couldn’t even tell the leather had been damaged. See the result below.

Our leather monogramming service goes the extra mile to not only ensure a beautiful monogram, but we also ensure the item itself returns back to the customer in even better condition than we received it. We always clean every item until it shines. This was an extra challenge for us, but the results were worth it and the client was very, very pleased. She couldn’t wait to give the “new” planner to her husband before his trip. It’s a great feeling to know we were able to turn her mistake into a treasured gift.

Leather Monogramming Events at Bloomingdale’s Are A Huge Success

Leather monogramming events booked at Bloomingdale’s in Lenox Mall in Atlanta were a huge success this Father’s Day weekend. Desiree Colonna, our CEO, monogrammed and embossed faux saffiano leather toiletry bags with a $100 purchase in men’s skincare and fragrances. She offered both gold and silver foil monogramming. Over 200 bags were monogrammed bringing in the store thousands of dollars in fragrance sales just in the first hour. People love the personalization and the in person animation they experience with experiential marketing events such as these. Customers will tend to stay in the department longer and buy more when Inkwell Designers is on the scene!

Location is everything! Desiree’s table was situated right in front of the escalators in the men’s department on Level 1. People were able to see her table coming off of the escalator and almost everyone stopped to ask about her leather monogramming machine out of curiosity. Most made their way to the fragrance counter to purchase and receive a bag. These are unique gifts you can’t find anywhere else.

When other fragrance Account Executives for lines such as Armani and Parfumes de Marly saw how popular her table was, they also asked Desiree to emboss and monogram their fragrance sleeves and wallet giveaways during the events. They even had to receive special permission from Bloomingdale’s corporate to use her leather monogramming services. She’s already invited back for more leather monogramming events in the Fall.
