New York City Calligraphy for Tiffany and Co. and Luxottica

New York City calligraphy events are very popular around Valentine’s Day, especially at designer glasses and sunglasses boutiques. We were asked to provide a calligrapher to write love letters as a gift with purchase at the Designer Eyes optical shop for Luxottica and Tiffany and Co. in New York City.

Our New York City calligrapher, Simon, was on hand to create beautiful love letters for guests throughout the four hour event in Greenwich Village. Guests could choose to create a card for anyone they wanted. Simon was able to take their message and use his Copperplate calligraphy skills to execute beautifully handwritten cards.

Simon worked with each client individually to hand write the most perfect messages with his amazing calligraphy skills. This was Simon’s first event with Inkwell Designers and is part of our New York City calligraphy and engraving team. We are very happy to have him as our newest team member representing us in New York City.

Simon hit it out of Central Park and guests were very excited to share his beautifully created calligraphy on their cards for sweethearts, friends and family. They were also very gracious in posing for pictures for this blog post to show off Simon’s calligraphy work.

We often are invited to do calligraphy, leather embossing, painting and engraving for top luxury brands and department stores around the country. This was our first New York City calligraphy event.

We are very excited to expand our team into New York. We get calls monthly to do events there and now we can save our clients travel costs by providing this service through Simon and others in the Big Apple!

Hot Foil Stamping and Calligraphy Kick Off Three Superbowl Events in Atlanta

Hot foil stamping and calligraphy were our featured activations at the Zac Brown concert kicking off the Superbowl celebrations in Atlanta. Guests absolutely loved seeing their monograms come to life with hot foil on the leather items. The event was held at the Tabernacle in Midtown.

The concert was sponsored by our partners at Pandora Radio (Pandora Live), Ashley HomeStore and Brita Water. This was the second Pandora Live concert we were invited to emboss leather items. The last concert was in Nashville for Jason Aldean.

This concert was the first of three Superbowl events we were invited to participate in for three different marketing companies and their clients. We were also invited to embroider hats for two separate company Superbowl events. We are the only event artist agency in the country asked to perform four independent activations at three separate events for five major corporations during the Superbowl in Atlanta!

Our hot foil stamping and calligraphy activations were the highlight of the event. We were told by the sponsors this was the best Pandora Live event ever and a lot had to do with the gifts we personalized for all the guests.

Our hot foil embossing was featured in the Ashley Home Store Lounge where we stamped leather koozies created exclusively for the Zac Brown Concert.

We had 5 embossers stamping over 500 koozies for guests during 4 hours.

Upstairs, our team members added calligraphy to water bottles provided by Brita Water. Our calligraphers added names and favorite phrases to the bottles including artwork from flowers and footballs.

We used oil-based Sharpies to draw beautiful calligraphy on the acrylic water bottles supplied by Brita water.

Our team of three calligraphers added their special touch to over 350 water bottles.

Our team had a wonderful night working with our partners and their guests. The music flowed all night and we were even able to watch the concert live from a video monitor set up in the basement where we were embossing as well as upstairs.

We want to thank our partners and clients for inviting us to be part of this special Superbowl event. We had the most team members at this event than any in our three year history. Everything went smoothly thanks to the organization of our team. All in all, it was a beautiful evening and a wonderful event in Atlanta.

Leather Bag Painting a Big Top Hit for Saks Fifth Avenue

Leather bag painting was one of the most successful marketing and public relations activations of the year at Saks Fifth Avenue, Phipps Plaza in Atlanta. We painting over 50 patent leather bags. The bags were a free gift with a $250 cosmetics and/or fragrance purchase. Customers were delighted with the personalized leather bag painting and didn’t mind standing in line to get their bags hand painted.

Guests were wowed at how quickly we were able to paint such gorgeous florals on their bags. Each one took less than 3 minutes. We also added hand painted calligraphy to further personalize the bags for Saks guests.

When word got around the store about the leather bag painting, people came over to the table to watch. There was a constant audience for 4 hours straight.

The theme of the night was Cirque de Beaute and there were even stilt walkers, gymnasts and a master of ceremonies to add to the fun!

One woman even bought over $900 in purchases in order for us to do three bags for her family.

What is really amazing is not one bag was the same. Every bad had a different hand painted flower. There were more than 50 bags painted for this event.

The next day, people literally met our painter, Desiree Colonna, at the door for her to do their bags which she wasn’t able to get to the night before. That is how popular this activation was.

Desiree was delighted at the reaction of Saks management and staff. They had never seen an activation become so popular in such a short time. Needless to say, they sold a lot of products during the four hours Desiree was painting in the store. The spike in sales was directly related to the leather bag painting experience.

Calligraphy Painting on Faux Leather Beauty Event at Saks Fifth Avenue

Calligraphy painting on faux leather items is a very popular service at on-site events, especially during Saks Fifth Avenue #beautyweek. The Atlanta Saks store manager called and wanted us to create a unique personalization using calligraphy painting as we had for her store a few months back. Our calligraphy was such a hit in the Spring, they wanted us to create this activation for them again during the Fall. The faux leather bags were a gift with a $150 purchase in the beauty department.

People lined up to have their bags personalized with our calligraphy painting. We even met some nice ladies from France and Poland who were in town. They loved their special gifts with purchase and even had us personalize some bags for friends back home.

We even created a special design for one client who loved roses. We can hand paint any surface including real leather.

The event was very popular with shoppers and kept them in the store longer while they waited for their bags to be designed and dried. We were strategically placed in the shoe department right next door to the beauty counters. The painting and drying time only took about 10 minutes but customers continued to shop and bought other items as they waited.

On Site Calligraphy for Almay at the Coalition for Collegiate Women’s Conference

On site calligraphy was a popular marketing animation in the Almay® booth at the Coalition for Collegiate Women’s Leadership Annual Conference in Atlanta. Greek women leaders from all over the country came to the conference in search of learning, fun and friendship. Maggie from Her Campus Media found us online and loved our work. When she saw we did calligraphy at on site events, she called us immediately to book us for Almay booth at the conference.

Almay provided the makeup bags and Inkwell Designers provided the calligraphy. Our calligrapher, Meg, added her special calligraphy magic to over 500 bags over two days. She met women from all over the country who came to attend this special event. The Greek leaders really loved Meg’s personality as she talked with them while she added calligraphy to the makeup bags.

The women loved the bags, but most especially, enjoyed the in-person experience they had watching Meg personalize the bags with whatever they wanted right in front of them. It was truly a personal gift and one they would actually use.

On site calligraphy is always a big hit with attendees and easy to accommodate. We only require a table and a chair and no electricity.

She added their names, their sororities, their nicknames and some art, whatever they wanted. They couldn’t wait to show off their bags to their friends at the event! The Almay booth was definitely one of the most popular as word got around the first day. We worked two days at the conference and by the beginning of the second day, there was a line around the booth.

We’re not sure who had a better time, Meg or the attendees! On site calligraphy is a wonderful way to create beautiful swag for your guests at any event, both corporate and private.

Hand Painted Calligraphy Makes an Atlanta Home Even More Beautiful

Hand painted calligraphy can breathe new life and add some interesting details into ordinary home decor. We were hired by an Atlanta homeowner to do just that Brittany found us online and asked us to come into her home and create a special saying on her fireplace mantel in calligraphy. She wanted the mantel painted in time for Thanksgiving when her family and friends were expected to join her family for a special party in her home.

Meg Mitchell, our hand lettering and chalkboard painting artist, was up for the task and very excited to start! First, she called Brittany and they had a long conversation about what Brittany wanted and what the message meant to her and her family. Meg then sketched everything out on her iPad and send Brittany proofs for her to approve. Brittany was very happy with the design. A few days later Meg went to Brittany’s home and did the work right on site.

The final results were stunning! Brittany was so happy, she hired Meg on the spot to design hand painted calligraphy on an antique table she had in her foyer. She wanted a simple “H” hand painted on to the table. Meg took the table home and presented the table, now adorned with her beautiful hand painted calligraphy, to her a few days later. The final pictures are posted below.

We loved the way this table turned out and we’re very proud of both projects.
