Leather third anniversary gift giving can be so doggone interesting, we never know what kind of requests we’ll get next.

A few weeks ago, we were contacted by a dog named Rufus. Rufus wanted a gift his owners could enjoy forever and something very unique. Rufus wanted his paw prints forever stamped in leather for the rest of his doggie days and beyond.

Leather is the perfect third anniversary gift because it is durable and lasting. The 3rd wedding anniversary is often when a couple is aware of their durability of their relationship. That is why a leather third anniversary gift is the traditional gift for this celebration.

Rufus wanted his leather third anniversary gift to his owners to be very special and something they could enjoy every day. We used the same process we use for our corporate logo stamping clients. We decided on a type of leather which would look best. Then one of his owners (who was already in on the gift) made a copy of his paw prints on paper which was then magically transferred into an electronic file.

We then proceeded to cut the die out of steel and magnesium using the electronic file and a laser. We also hand cut the die itself once it is completed.

The die is then used in our embossing machine and stamped onto the leather. Below you can see the dog prints debossed with no color before we add the gold foil.

Gold foil is then added and stamped onto the leather piece and the final result is stunning! The leather piece was then added to a shadowbox frame.

We were very happy to know Rufus’ gift was well received by the couple and we hope it brings them a lot of joy when they see it in their home.
